Andhy Blake is an award-winning television producer, presenter, and creative leader hailing from Tailevu, Fiji. He first appeared on television in 2008 as a regular contributor to the Canterbury Today show on CTV in Christchurch, New Zealand.
In 2013, Andhy broke new ground in Fiji’s television industry by producing and hosting Jejemon, the nation’s first lifestyle show on FBC TV. The series ran for an impressive seven years and was followed by other notable productions, including Pageants & Tiaras and Fijian Time (Travel).
In late 2020, he joined Mai TV, where he produced Mai Fijian Voices and The Pulse with Andhy Blake. His career reached a global audience in 2023 when he starred alongside world-famous YouTube food vlogger Mark Wiens in a Fijian Food Tour series, showcasing the rich culinary culture of Fiji.
That same year, Andhy’s contributions to cultural tourism were recognized when he was nominated for Fiji’s Cultural Tourism Ambassador award at the Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards. He won silver for his efforts in promoting Fiji across key international markets, including the U.S., Canada, New Caledonia, Hong Kong, Japan, and China.
Currently, Andhy heads Resonance Media, a subsidiary of Nalawa Holdings Limited, founded by Fiji’s celebrated musical artist Kuki, a member of the renowned band InsideOut.
Blake began his television debut in 2004 and starred on Canterbury Television’s Today Show in Christchurch.
He also made guest appearances on TVNZ’s Breakfast Show and MTV New Zealand.
Blake landed the role of Assistant Producer for New Zealand Fashion Week from 2006 to 2009. He was later asked to assist with the 2010 New Zealand Fashion Festival.
After his New Zealand Fashion Week success, he was confirmed to produce New Zealand Cup and Show Week’s Fashion Event, Style Christchurch from 2006 to 2008.
In 2011, Andhy teamed up with top New Zealand TV Producer, Brooke Howard-Smith and produced Fashion for Relief that was part of the fundraising efforts that raised over 1 million NZD for the Christchurch Earthquake victims.
He also produced Fashion at 35’000 feet with Fiji Airways during their inaugural flight to Wellington in 2014.
Blake won the 1998 Student Design Section at the Fiji Red Cross Fashion Designer of the Year Awards. In 2000, he placed 2nd in 4 design categories – evening, ethnic, bridal and fantasy and went on to pursue a designing career in Auckland, New Zealand.
He placed as a finalist in 2003 and 2004 at the Style Pasifika Fashion Awards in Auckland, where he designed gowns in both the evening and Asia Pacific themed categories.
From 2012 to 2017, Blake held the prestigious role of Fiji’s Miss World License Holder, championing the nation’s representation on the global stage. He has also served as a judge for Miss New Zealand in 2010 and Miss South Pacific in 2011, bringing his expertise to esteemed pageants in the region.
In 2024, Blake was appointed as the Creative Director for Miss Hibiscus, where he successfully revived the pageant’s 68th anniversary after a seven-year hiatus. Under his leadership, the event generated close to 5 million dollars for the city of Suva through sales, retail, tourism, and transport, marking a milestone in its storied history.
